I miss you, Grandpa...

My heart is broken. My Nanay passed away on Friday night after being chronically ill for the past eight months. As much as I wish that we could've all been there with her during her last days, I know she knows that she was loved, and I know that she's in a much better place where she is no longer hurting. Now, she can spend all day gardening, playing with cats, and eating whatever she wants. She's my angel now.

Rest in peace, Nanay. I love you so much.

After such a loss, it's sometimes hard to find things around you that can make you feel happy... but somehow, there's comfort in knowing that seasons will always change and life will continue to go on...

My Friday afternoon walk with Snickers...

It was such a beautiful afternoon...

October 22nd, 2009

Yay, I have happy yellow shoes!

(It is purely a coincidence that I took pictures of my feet two days in a row).

October 21st, 2009

I love to put my feet up!

October 20th, 2009

My love and prayers are with you Nanay. Wish I could be with you...

(January 2007)

(April 2009)

Love and miss you so.

I. love. coffee. <3

October 18th, 2009

On Sunday morning, I woke up to the temperature being 63 degrees inside my house. I thought I was going to perish... (And no, I did not wake up at 1:19 in the afternoon, I just tolerated it for that long).

As much as I enjoyed staying in all weekend long, the gloomy weather was definitely getting to me... it's amazing what sunshine can do.

October 17th, 2009

I got to check out the last day of the Bra-ha-ha at Macarthur Center. There were so many creative entries/bras all from people who were or knew someone affected by breast cancer. For more information, see here.

October 16th, 2009

The only kind of family picture I can get these days :)

(My nephew is so silly... he's a little acrobat!)

October 15th, 2009

The sudden drop in temperature called for some home-made chili and cornbread! Fall comfort food!

October 14th, 2009

Candle-light is soothing.

October 13th, 2009

All I have to say is that work is overrated. If I were working, I would not be able to flaunt my new pink garden gloves! Life is good, though I know this lack of routine will not last...

October 12th, 2009

So, I'm sure some of you might think that these next set of photos (or perhaps most of my photos) are similar to previous ones, but I really don't care... It could very well be that a lot of the same things make me happy on different days, which is fine... The important thing is that it makes me happy :)

Here's my baby hiding under her blanket. She looks so cozy!

October 11th, 2009

I honestly have not been able to study this hard in my room... since high school?!? As much as I love coffee shops, I'm trying to break my habit of them.

October 10th, 2009

I really think that this is one of the best things I came across this year. There is no reason why anyone should not be taking multivitamins!

October 9th, 2009

My first experimentation with pastels... very different from painting, but I'm beginning to think that I'm going to love using them. They're so much fun!

October 8th, 2009

I absolutely love outdoor parks and courtyards. If I had it my way, I would place benches and trees everywhere, so I could simply be outside whenever and where ever I wanted to...

October 7th, 2009

Stumpy's got a room all to himself now!

October 6th, 2009

Beautiful roses from the garden...
I'm beginning to really like doing yard work/gardening!

October 5th, 2009

Ah, very relaxing...

October 4th, 2009

Check out my cute roommate!

October 3rd, 2009

Chris and Lisa's wedding day!!! It was such a beautiful day...

Check out the beautiful view outside the Lesner Inn... AND they put lovebirds on top of their wedding cake! Love it!

With my old pal, Chris!

I'm so happy for them... I love weddings!

October 2nd, 2009

The first day of my pastels class! Yaaay! I'm so excited for these next eight weeks!

October 1st, 2009

The pottery tile I painted for Chris and Lisa as a wedding gift...

(I hope they liked it... what was supposed to be a relaxing time ended up turning into a stressful one... but it was still fun to make!)

September 30th, 2009

Stuck in horrible traffic on the way to Downtown Norfolk... but just check out the view...

September 29th, 2009

Butter-thyme gnocchi... always a treat :)

September 28th, 2009

Here's a flower I crocheted with the help from my friend! Can't wait to work on other fun projects... I just hope I have the time to start and finish them!

September 27th, 2009

Awww... they're in love!!!
