December 25th, 2009 - Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did! :)

[My sister and her husband with their "his" and "her" blankets that I got for them. I figured they should take advantage of all the naps they can get before Baby Gaga arrives.. ]

[Here's my nephew, Ariston, trying on his dad's new shoes. He's so silly!]

Our Christmas dinner prepared by Ate` Tish, Ate`, and me :)
It included lumpia shanghai, ham, pancit, fried rice, mashed potatoes, turkey, and an apple pie (not pictured). I really had a nice, homey, happy Christmas... it's always nice to be around family. We are all very excited about Christmas 2010, though! My parents and Melanie will be back stateside, and we'll have a new addition to the family.. can't wait!

And for my last favorite Christmas movie scene... My sister and I were watching A Christmas Story as we prepared our holiday meal. I love that I can look forward to watching this movie every Christmas Day.

A Merry, merry Christmas to you and yours

Although we didn't get the 2 feet of snow that the rest of Virginia got, it was still too cold, wet, and dreary to do anything... or maybe I was just feeling lazy?

December 18th, 2009

This was such a fun evening, reuniting with friends (old and new!) over home-made dishes. Perhaps we can make it a monthly or seasonal tradition?

Now, there may not be any Christmas lights outside my house, but I made sure to put a candle by each front window.

Many of you might be wondering why there are so many pictures of Christmas decorations as my "photo(s)-a-day", and well, it's because this is the first time I decorated the house without my family. And while it was a bit melancholy to do, I am proud that I did decorate. :)

My holiday bird collection is expanding... aren't they all so cute? No one should ever wonder what to get me for Christmas ;)

Thank you sooooo much to my Secret Santa! I just love, love my new stationary...
Having a blog sure pays off (see here) I think I'll post everything I want and see what I get come Christmas day! :)

On a separate note... it's 10 days 'til Christmas!!!
I was watching Home Alone 2: Lost in New York earlier... Another one of my favorites!

"I believe you, but my tommy gun don't!" Hahaha... oh I love it!

It's a little Christmas tree.. and it's missing the angel on top, but it's a Christmas tree nonetheless :)

December 12th, 2009

Tara and I ran the Santa Shuffle 5k in Olde Towne Portsmouth. It was soooooo cold, but a lot of fun! So many people came dressed up in holiday-gear (Tara was a Christmas tree.. hehe)! It was definitely a great start to the day!

I feel like my house is the only house on the street that isn't decorated with Christmas lights... it's sad, especially since my Dad would normally go all out. To show everyone that I'm not a Scrooge, I finally put a wreath on the door... and I made the bow :)

Celebrating with the grads, JP and Jeremy, at Guadalajara's on Granby.
Congrats, you guys!!!
I just love how we're all positioned in this picture.

We also ran into the Santa bar crawl... hehe! Fun!

The Friday after Thanksgiving means that the Christmas season is now upon us! I took this picture at one of my favorite, favorite stores, World Market. The colorful ornaments just make me happy. I believe Christmas will be spent at my house this year, which means I'm in charge of decorating, cooking, entertaining.... Eeeek! We'll see how that goes...

Back in Hampton Roads... I'm so glad I got to hang out with some old friends!
So much fun! :)

Since it is the holiday season, I've decided that I will post some of my favorite clips from some of my favorite holiday movies to get us all in the Christmas spirit! After the long drive from Springfield, I was so excited to finally get home to find Elf on TV. I just love this clip with Buddy and Jovi... "Baby, it's cold outside..."
